So I compete for a D3 college, but I'll be going on a co-op this coming semester in a major metropolitan area 3 hours from my school, so I won't be on the roster for indoor or outdoor track. I still want to train hard and get in some quality workouts. There are a couple of colleges in the city in which I will be working (both D1 and D3) and I was planning on emailing their coaches and asking if I could jump in on some of their workouts. I'm fast enough to run on all these teams so I don't expect that to be a roadblock.
Is there a reason this wouldn't workout, other than the coaches not wanting me there (which I totally understand). Are there any NCAA rules against this? I won't be on the roster at my college for the spring semester, but I will be on it again next fall, and I've been on it before. I would ask my compliance officer but I'm not going back to my college until next fall, and I didn't really think about this until now.
Anyone have any idea?
