Every month or two, there's a story about how Obama has just now stopped smoking. There's nary a story about him smoking every month before that, just a litany of stories about him having now quit.
What can this news media report honestly if it can't even get this right? He's was a smoking presidential candidate and a smoking President. That was rarely reported honestly, only in the context of him having "quit," now for the tenth time, or so.
Oh, and save me the "fact" that the article says he hasn't smoked in nine months. Even if true, that isn't the point here. It's that his smoking was covered up to make him look better than he was. It's such a small thing, but hiding small things is indication of larger biases on the part of the media.
Imagine if Sarah Palin smoked. There'd be closeups of her yellow teeth on the cable shows and hand wringing over the example she's giving her children, not to mention the second hand smoke danger. Obama had none of that treatment, just fan pieces maquerading as news on how healthy and vigorous he was at the beach or playing basketball.

Get your head out of your arse. It was never "covered up." In fact, Obama has openly spoken about his smoking. Read a f***ing paper, for crissakes.
I think we need to cut him some slack. Dut to cultural differences, it's more difficult for Muslims to quit smoking than it is for Christians. We need to be more tolerant.
much like there’s no such thing as ‘I was a heroin addict’, ‘I quit smoking’ is only temporary.
$1 Million dollars says he takes up smoking again if the North Koreans and US went to war.
Not covered up?
When have you seen him smoking since he has been president?
Never.
Does he smoke in public? NO.
Just because it is impossible to hide and get away with he admits to it. He certainly covers it up to whatever extent he can by discouraging talking about it in interviews and never doing it in public.
I've never seen Obama take a shower. I guess that means he doesn't take showers.

You deserve an award for the most dramatic contention of a falsehood. His only talking about it was in terms of his success in quitting. His smoking was hidden, or denied, or minimized at the time, such as the occasional cigarette sometime in the past, or the working so hard for the people fable.
I can't recall any coverage of anyone saying, at the time, that Obama was smoking in their presence, or in a meeting, or interview, or smelled like smoke, or had a pack in his hand or pocket. It goes unreported. Two articles, published somewhere, out of 20,000 that avoid the subject are proof of the silence, not the pubilcity.
It's a double standard. The more to the left you are, the more this media builds you up and hides your flaws, whether substantive or personal.

What damages lives more, cigs or booze? Think about it young man.
I just think it's bad news when the most powerful man in the world (most likely) can't even control his addictions? What kind of flocking message does that send to U.S. citizens and their kids? It's gross.

Tell that to FOX news(?).
Fox is overrated in its impact on the reporting in this country. In most things, it's more of the same. Poltically, it's more favorable for the Republicans, contrary to the drumbeat of negativity about them elsewhere. Fox is also more negative toward the Democrats, noticeable only because of the 365 days of PR for leftists elsewhere.
Still, one news outlet, out of many, doesn't change the prevailing media message, which is reverential toward Obama and any left Democrat. Not many people watch Fox anyway.
Perhaps the greatest proof of the close mindedness of the left in America is their whining about Fox News, as if 95% of the networks being apologists for the left is a shortage and contrary thought had to be 0% of the airways, rather than Fox being the only non leftist messenger.

THIS!
Actually a lot of people do watch fox news, look up the ratings

Yeah, they've only been the top rated cable news network for the last 9 years with more viewers than MSNBC and CNN combined. No one is watching them.

You need to get out of your mother's basement and get some fresh air. You're missing a lot! Like the 60 Minutes episode during the presidential campaign when Michelle Obama openly talked about her husband's cigarette smoking. I guess CBS is not mainstream enough for you. Well then, how about in 2009 when the President openly spoke during a press conference about his struggles with quitting? I guess his openness at a major press conference is your idea of a coverup. Dumbass.
All Presidents have addictions. Billy C was addicted to poonani. Obama had cigs. George W was addicted to being retarded. It all works out.
The leader of the free world (Obama) has allegedly stopped smoking!
Excellent!
Now stop spending.
Has Bush stopped doing cocaine?
