I'm hoping someone out there might be able to answer this..
So I ran for 2 years (Fr/So) at a D1 school. My first year I officially red-shirted and the 2nd year I competed. I left the team after my sophomore year, but remained at the school and will be graduating this spring...in 4 years time. I'm planning to go on for a masters, and looking at several D3 schools, of which I'd be interested in playing soccer* for my 5th year, fall season.
Is this possible in terms of NCAA eligibility rules? I know that you cannot graduate from a D1 school and go and play the same sport at D3 school, but having sat out two years, and pursuing a different sport all together, does that have any effect?
