I'm planning on skiing 1 day a week (or 2 consecutive days every 2 weeks) in Tahoe at an altitude (6,500 to 9,500 ft). I found it difficult to run after a day of skiing, because its dark, the jogging trails are not plowed, and the roads are icy and lined with snow. I did find some residential areas where I could jog in the street with a headlamp and reflective vest, but probably not the safest move.
(I think the bears are hibernating).
Anyhow, I noticed that some elites live in an altitude house, but train at sea level. So, will I get the same benefits from altitude by just being at altitude for a day or 2, or do I need to also run at altitude. In other words, do elites secretly run on treadmills in their altitude homes?
