I just don't think it's at all possible. Sorry.

Ummmm.... ever heard of Jordan Hasay?
Considering there are now only 1-2 high level miles/year, I'd agree.
Sub 3:30 is another matter....
What a ridiculous statement. Andrew Wheating may well break 3:50 in 2011 - he's already faster over 1500 than Scott, Falcon and Spivey, sub-3:50 runners all. Wheating's 3:30, at the end of a long NCAA season, mind you, is worth 3:47 high, so he doesn't even need to run exceptionally to do it either. If Nike wants to set up another race for Wheating like they did for Webb in Braaschaat, 3:50 is toast.
2/10. poor trolling attempt.
this made me lol hard.
These days, being the fastest American miler is kind of like being the best basketball player in Greenland. It’s a major accomplishment, but chances are you’re going to get spanked when you face the world’s best.

Why are you sorry? Your inability to believe it will not prevent it from happening.
Will you be sorry for making your prediction if it happens within the next few years?
No, of course you won't. You'll just look for something else to naysay.

Look, I appreciate your nationalism about as much as I do the nationalism of a guy named Borat from Kazakhstan. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. America f***in sucks.

Nationalism is not the same thing as patriotism. Get your -isms straight.

Sorry, but that is empirically false.
Webb 3:46
Webb was on drugs. Explain to me another reason why he can't perform in an olympic year? Face it. It was hard for him to accept being that guy at age 23 who at age 18 was on pace to be the best American ever. He succumbed to the pressure and took performance enhancing drugs.
webb will lower his AR to 3:45.7 to 3:45.9 in the next 18 months and might even do it this summer. With someone like Wheating right there it is not suprising to think that Nike will at least have them in 1-2 fast miles each of the next couple of years. Wheating may beat Webb in a race here or there but he will never better Webb's times in the mile and probably not in the 1500.
Does anyone really listen and read the interview that are posted. Webb ran 5th avenue off of about 2-3 months of running outside of the alter g and almost one the race. He pops a great 5k turkey trot time, as a work out, gets his personal life together and is training solidly now for 5-6 months. Unless he has another injury he will be the top 1500m/miler in America for the next 3-5 years and will make at least two serious attempts at the WR in the 1500m and mile over this same time period. Webb will be at least at 3:44 for the mile and 3:28 for the 1500m for career pr's.
