Looking for Doc in Portland, OR to treat Achilles injury

Dave McHenry is a great physical therapist with Therapeutic Associates on MLK Blvd. I have seen him for years for many things including achilles problems. My insurance (Blue Cross) covers my visits without MD prescription.

Dr. Al Salazar in the Beaverton area. Knows a lot about biomechanics and can get you on the right drug treatment program.

There are no more doctors in Portland, they heard the 90's dream was still alive in town so they headed for the border. Quite a shame really.

There is a great foot doc in Portland, Dr Yates who has treated many of my athletes with a 100% rate of full recovery and as quick as possible. Also Ted Forcum at Back in Motion is a good therapist.

I'm a big fan of Dr. Ray McClanahan at NW Food & Ankle: nwfootankle.com. His 5000 meter PR is 13:56, so I guess you could say he is "runner friendly." He is a surgeon, but strongly prefers not to operate.

I just checked his website about insurance: unfortunately, like a lot of top docs, he does not deal directly with insurance. You need to pay and get reimbursed. So that's a judgment call for you to make: best doc versus lowest cost.

I second Dave McHenry. I've seen Alberto's athletes in here from time to time.
