What times does Villanova look for in recruits? What times are needed to walk on? What type of SATS and grades do they look for?

Male or female?
Why are the women so much better than the men? I listened to Marcus present at Convention and wonder what others thought about his coaching ability?
male

there women are anorexic, which allows them to run fast in college, but unfortunately prevents development afterwards
girls with bmis under 18 shouldnt even be touching running shoes
What is the average BMI for their top 5? They look healthy to me.

HAHHA no! they are all healthy! the only one that looks borderline is amanda marino and i know for a fact she is healthy she was always that size! gina would not allow for her girls to be unhealthy, she looks for runners that she can take from high school and develop into amazing collegiate runners as well as taking them to the next level as pros!
dont start rumors, clearly you are jealous of what they have going on there!
thanks for answering my question guys, because i really wanted to hear about the average bmi of the women's team
you are asking a bunch of people from lets run... email the coach! make contact with him and show that you are interested. sometimes coaches make exceptions if they see potential in an athlete or if they really like them.
of course there is a range they arent gonna be like oh i really like this guy that runs 440 in the mile but if you are running 425 they might let you im not sure
so email the coach
Marcus is a great guy! He is very easy to talk to and cares a lot about his team and each individual runner. If you are a state qualifier in your event he wouyld probably give you a chance. Just don't expect to travel with the team to national level meets right away.
As far as the BMI talk, you have no clue. Gina loves those girls and takes care of them like her own daughters. She never has and never will put them in danger. Besides, if they had eating disorders they probably would tank by the end of the season (Washington's women last year). Instead, they keep getting better. Your west coast crying is pathetic. They are the best team in the nation two years running (pun intended) regardless of what stupid rumors you want to start.

Well what was your opinion of him? Did he sound like he knew what he was talking about? He was a very good runner in his day, and I'm curious as to how his coaching philosophy differs from Tom Donnelly's (current coach at Haverford, reigning D3 national champions; Donnelly also coached O'Sullivan when he was tearing up the track in the late 80s).
Thats a little fast. About 9 years ago as a HS junior at 4:26 and 9:41 I was told, very nicely, by O'Sullivan that my times weren't fast enough to walk on but if I lowered them ABOUT 7-8 and 20 seconds respectively, that there was a good chance that I could make it as a walk on.

Their team has grown a lot the last few years so it'll take quicker times to get on the team.

this is accurate. but i know for a fact that half that team cant hit those times. they have a lot of good guys but a ton of mediocre ones running 8:40-9:00 in the 3000 indoor. as for xc the same is true. varsity is good (despite tons of injuries). but you will find a dozen guys who arent really that good. its very common to see multiple guys running 27:00-28:00 for a flat 8k course.
sats- if you put something over 2000 youre probably in good shape. one thing to consider for your app is they LOVE community service crap and bullshit along those lines. just make some stuff about volunteering up and you drastically improved your chances
Interesting...the guys' marks seem much stronger than the girls' - yet the programs seem too be better for women than men?!?!

I've never ever ever seen a guys program who sends out walk on standards to prospective students that they actually stick to. I consider walk on standards received from college coaches as target marks they want for a good walk on. Every coach says they want 4:20 in the mile to walk on. Every coach also lets 4:28 guys onto their team.
Some states like Wisconsin have roster limits and a 4:28 miler wouldn't make some of the states D3 teams where everyone is non-scholarship = walk-ons.
