it's definitely a way different fitting upper. the laces seem to go way too high into the ankle in the front and then it just stays way too high all the way around.
the midsole seems waaaaaay higher too in the heel, at least from looking at it compared to the old one on the shelves.
I think the upper fits pretty well in the forefoot. I agree the collar is a little high around the heel but they claim it is a better heel fit and more conducive to orthotics. The midsole is no different in the height. I thought the same thing but the heights are the same they just wrapped the walls up a little higher so, just as you noticed, it looks more substantial. Take a few runs in it I bet you will love it just as much after like 3 runs. I know I did.
They probably did it to get people to stop heel striking

Why would I buy a shoe that feels like crap to test it out for 3 days and see if it magically gets better? Makes more sense to buy the better feeling shoe out of the box, don't you think?

The 759 is similar to the 13, but I feel like the heel is just a nudge higher in the 759.
I have to size up a full size in Wave Riders so that's nothing new. Been wearing them since the 7 model. Haven't tried the 14's so can't comment more than that.
