bothers me when some idiot says the New England blizzard is evidence global warming doesnt exist
why do you want global warming to exist so much? sounds mildly unpleasant to me

There will ALWAYS be idiots who say things like this. That's just what idiots do.

Equally as idiotic as someone using a record high as proof of global warming.
I did ask somewhere if Al Gore were in NE giving a global warming talk. (For those unaware, he seems to have the knack for showing up at some global warming alarmist meeting only to be met with very cold weather).
All summer long, global warming proponents idiocally use summer as proof of global warming. Does that bother you too?
What bothers me is the hypocrisy of the global warming proponents. They do seem very hostile to individual dissent and very sheeplike in their conformance to one particular idea.

hello? look at long-term trend
It's called Global Climate Disruption now. Now, it's even easier for the AGW wackos to say any given weather event "proves" their position!!
So... how do you tolerate yourself?
It bothers me when people deny Global Warmings falsity even after Climategate.
I'll be laughing at all of the global warming advocates who stock piled short shorts when nuclear winter hits and I have bought the world's supply of running tights. mwhaaa haa haa.
You forgot an apostrophe.
Global warming is a hoax. Here is an article with some very interesting comments from
"Karl Popper, the late, great philosopher of science, noted that for something to be called scientific, it must be, as he put it, "falsifiable." That is, for something to be scientifically true, you must be able to test it to see if it's false. That's what scientific experimentation and observation do. That's the essence of the scientific method.
Unfortunately, the prophets of climate doom violate this idea. No matter what happens, it always confirms their basic premise that the world is getting hotter. The weather turns cold and wet? It's global warming, they say. Weather turns hot? Global warming. No change? Global warming. More hurricanes? Global warming. No hurricanes? You guessed it.
Nothing can disprove their thesis. Not even the extraordinarily frigid weather now creating havoc across most of the Northern Hemisphere...Got that? No matter what the weather, it's all due to warming. This isn't science; it's a kind of faith. Scientists go along and even stifle dissent because, frankly, hundreds of millions of dollars in research grants are at stake. But for the believers, global warming is the god that failed..."
I LOVE!!! global warming. If it wasn't for global warming it would only be 12° here instead of the balmy 13° that it is.
How many trillions of dollars is that extra 1° costing our country?
Is there evidence that the average temperature at the surface of the earth has recently been increasing? I suppose.
Is there conclusive evidence that man is responsible for that warming? Nope.
Is it plausible that global warming could be a result of man? I suppose.
Is it possible that global warming could be a self-correcting situation in the long-run, regardless of what man does? Who knows?
Is there any evidence/research that provides any reasonable level of assurance that actions we take now can change the trend in global temperatures? If so, what are those actions? What is required? What are the impacts of those actions on the world's economies and the people therein?
To believe that global warming is a problem, that it is caused by man, that it isn't self-correcting, that our actions can reverse it, and that the resources we devote to attempt to reverse it should be pulled from other deserving needs of humanity requires a great deal of faith.
I am not ready to worship Gaia. I guess my faith is weak.
I understand that the consequences of continued global warming may be quite severe, but that doesn't mean we have any control over it. Our attempts to "treat the conditions" will have real definite, potentially negative, impacts on people.
Are the likely side effects worth the possibility of a cure? The depends on how much you believe in the efficacy of the treatment (which has never been tested) and the severity of the side effects.
Even if I go along with the data that says there has recently been an increase in the temperature of the surface of the earth, I am not convinced warming is the result of man's actions. Furthermore, I am not convinced our actions can cool the earth without unleashing other potentially devastating impacts, let alone the potential negative economic impacts.
...In the end, I agree with the OP. It's ridiculous to claim a blizzard is evidence global warming doesn't exist, but I think most have moved beyond arguing over whether there has been a recent increase in global temperatures so it's kind of irrelevant.

bothers me when some idiot says the New England blizzard (or any other blizzard, hurricane, heat wave, cold snap, tornado, etc.) is evidence global warming does exist.
They then try to say that these "extreme" events are a result of global warming. They fail to realize that these "extreme" events have been taking place for all 100-150 years that reliable weather records exist for. You want "extreme" weather...it's hard to beat the weather in much of the U.S. through most of the 1930s. If we saw the weather of that decade repeat itself now, the chicken littles would have a field day. Compared to just that decade alone, the weather over the past decade has been downright tranquil.
How does anybody know if increased temps would be good or bad? I like Ohio better now that there are no glaciers!!
The coldest December on record here in the UK. No sign of any warming here. The current weather conditions are an inconvenient truth for many people.
Fun fact: The state of Washington was buried under a glacier less than 20,000 years ago. The state of Washington had Palm Trees 100,000 years ago, The state of Washington was an enormous Lava Field 200,000 years ago. Things change, with or without our help.
The idea that the Earth's climate is static is stupid. The idea that the 50s were the most ideal climate and any deviation from that is bad is even more stupid.
Not going to get into the climate change debate, but if you honestly think that that article expresses Popper's theory of falsifiability correctly, then you are a bigger f***ing idiot than the author.
Anyone who posts something accusing global warming "deniers" of being idiots is themselves an idiot. When will these zealots stop beating this drum? How much evidence contradictory to their theory must emerge before they step away from the propagandist lie they call science and stop trying to bludgeon clear thinking people into submission? Go away, you bastards! You and your stupid, zealot prophet Al Gore are the ultimate Chicken Littles, screaming that the sky is falling when, in fact, it is not. Pick another cause du jour. The world has plenty of problems. "Global Warming" is not one of them.
