I never ask for anything since I grew up in a poorer immigrant family that never viewed the holiday season as 'gift giving' time. Now all I get is money from family/friends.

I got cash also but $600 less than you. If you're from a poor immigrant family, I wonder how that reflects on mine.
I got a bunch of chocolates, hand warmers, gloves, tickets to a MN Wild NHL hockey game, a new winter jacket (may return as it's pretty big), a portable AM/FM/weatherband radio for running, a fleece balaclava, $50 cash, $25 Olive Garden gift card. My wife and I jointly got some dinner/dessert plates from Pottery Barn as well.
Tickets to Spurs vs. Magic game, digital photo frame, GPS/Bluetooth for my car, and my favorite....a JJ Redick Orlando Magic jersey!!

I got another year older.
I also unloaded a few Cadavaloser tickets that were going to be given as "gifts" though I don't know if the person receiving them would consider them that.

Nothing, except that lap dance I bought myself.
I did volunteer on Christmas Eve and Christmas day for a Christmas Potluck for the less fortunate. I also donated 3 bags of clothing and shoes to St. Paul de Vincent.
I bought my lady friend a 60 min massage, some nice truffles, a target gift card, a 10 in skillet, and a puzzle.
I bought my roommate and her daughter each a nice candy bar and their dog a candy-cane dog bone and a reindeer squeaky toy.
I didn't get nothing. I had to pay $50 and clean up the garbage.
Seriously, if I had gotten coal I would have considered that a useful worthwhile present as I could use it to offset my heating bill.
I'm getting older, so I really don't want anything. But my mother insists on buying me something. So she bought me 4 pairs of underwear.
