Real heating models are very difficult to compute without settling for a simplified model.

If you are heating up a molten salt with Sunlight you have a constant heat flux, natural convection, radiative heat transfer, as well as a potentially invalid lump sum approximation... Lets just say things can get pretty hairy if you want a high accuracy model. This is a problem you need to give to an engineer, not Letsrun.
