For about 2 weeks I've noticed a slightly strained/achy feeling towards my inner thigh/groin/quad area. It does not affect my running, doesn't hurt to walk or xtrain, and is not painful. Just feels a little "off." Can hop on one leg ok. Did the "fulcrum" test for femur stress frx and it was a bit sore in the thigh area but not painful. I am currently abroad, so getting a bone scan/MRI may not be an option. My question is: is it possible to catch a stress reaction/frx at a very early stage (before it's painful or interferes with running) and is it ok to take a few weeks off and xtrain (elliptical, bike, weights) if nothing is causing pain? I'm just a little worried after reading about people with femur stress frxs who are on crutches for several weeks. Is it safe to walk, xtrain, etc. if I'm not in pain doing so? I'm hoping this is something that can clear up on its own without medical intervention. Any advice woul be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
