Great interview, wish that there was a way to convince him to run full time.
You don't make alot of cash triing, he should so totally be a runner.
Running - the road to riches.
LOL
Dumb question, if he became a full time triathlete, couldn't he still win a couple national road championship races (like USA 5K, 8K, Bix 7 mile, 10 mile etc), and be selected for things like the Ediken championships in Japan or World Half Marathon Championships?
Nonr of the best USA runners ever win or are selected for these things (obviously excluding Dathan Ritzenhein), and for the World Half Marathon championships the slower runners for the US ran 65 and 66's so he could easily still run that even during Triathlon training. I could see him still being a "runner" for the championships that the good pros don't run and be a triathlete. Hell he could even still run World Cross since no one good does it anyway.
tri athletes make decent money, their entire body is a billboard and they do alright. he has potential to land six figures out of college like ritz and webb but what if he ends up like wthrow? Tri athletes do okay and he will do ok, right NOW. risk vs long term reward. I think its cool he may potentially do something different
