hi i'm getting into running (ran xc a little here and there and learned a bit here and there from my legit coaches although i was always the f**k up runner on the team).
i wanna read as much as i can about running.
i already have the daniel's running formula (haven't started reading it yet).
i'm a 22 yo girl (kinda chubby from college - just graduated in june - go bruins, y'all). my longest runs are 10mi @ about 8:30/9min pace. my fastest 5k was around 22:30 (sadly/unfortunately).
i wanna get better/faster (cliche, i know) and not be a fat ass.
also, i wanna run a half marathon in 1 yr and then run the LA marathon 2 yrs from now.
also, any good running magazines out there? or any good running blogs?
any advice at all would be much appreciated.
oh AND i've stopped eating meat the past week (i still eat dairy, fish, & eggs). for some reason, meat just smells awful to me (i've been sick so it might just be from being ill). this might all pass.
BUT - would it be absolutely idiotic to be a distance runner (running idk 45 miles a week and not eating poultry or red meat)? is that suicide? what are your thoughts on diet and running?
sorry for the million questions. answer which ever ones you'd like. happy holidays. keep running.
OH! and are there any LA running clubs/groups you could suggest?
