Black Swan, movie's nuts.
even though it got pretty mixed reviews, i really liked tron: legacy
Anybody see True Grit?
Saw "How do you Know" tonight and it was extremely funny. Depends on what you want.

Saw it today. Not as good as i expected (I had really high expectations), but still entertaining. Jeff Bridges was great--lots of good one-liners like you see in the trailer. Josh Brolin and Barry Pepper are barely in it, even though Brolin gets third billing. The girl that plays the daughter is great; very good casting.
Sports Illustrated called 'The Fighter" the best sports movie in 10 years. I saw it and I have to agree- awesome! Stars Mark Wahlberg, in a true story of former boxer Mickey Ward and his fight career, dealing with a dysfunctional family including his crack addict older brother Dicky, (played by Christian Bale) himself a former fighter who once fought Sugar Ray Leonard.
Nominated for multiple Golden Globes, also predicted to get Oscar nominations. There's even some track and field references, as his girlfriend played by Amy Adams mentions how she won a New England county championship in high school with a 5 ' 8'' pr and got a full ride to N.R I. She even does a high jump in their front yard at one point.

Was she as good as Kim Darby (the girl in the John Wayne version)?
One hundred twenty seven hours.
127 Hours
Black Swan
True Grit
Kings Speech
The Fighter
Are all best picture contenders
Just saw Black Swan and True Grit back to back....and Black Swan completely blew it out of the water...and I came in with pretty heavy biases (love the Coen Bro's, love westerns, worked on True Grit)...but Black swan was on another level...admittedly there is probably somewhat narrow audience that will really enjoy it, so don't walk in thinking it's the greatest movie of the year because you might hate it...but it's as if Kundera and Kafka got together and wrote a screenplay and Hollywood somehow managed not to blow it. Well done Aronofsky.
Also "the Fighter" was very solid...Christian Bale carries it.
True Grit was good, but not overwhelmingly great...which is what I was hoping for.
You may want to see True Grit because they have a sequel coming later. The girl is all grown up in it, its called Grue Tit.
