Portland Oregon, "where young people go to retire."
Portland Oregon, "where young people go to retire."
Boring.
Was that Daria Morgendorffer at :52?
Hilarious. I actually do live down the street from a acrobatics studio.
"In Portland you can put a bird on something and call it art"
This is true. I went to an art show in Portland and it was the most egregious display of non-talent you could imagine. they actually had an exhibit called "Styrofoamia" which was rooms filled knee deep with Styrofoam objects. O-kaaaaaaaayyyyy.....
Meanwhile an onerous tax structure has them bleeding green.
I asked a friend how Portland compares to Seattle (I've only lived in Seattle, she's lived in both). Her reply:
"If you put Seattle in the dryer and it shrunk, yanked out some traffic and replaced it with functional public transportation, converted 98% of the population to the High and Holy Church of Obama, turned all of the men gay, swapped Mr. Rainier for Mt. Hood, and added canvassers to every street corner, you would have Portland."

So 2008, and specifically owls. Octopus/squid is the new animal du jour.

tell your friend not to quit her day job.
Octopus/squid art....Excellent!
THE STATE OF OREGON HAS HAD A 100% INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF MAJOR TRACK AND FIELD AND ROADS MEDALS WON IN RECENT INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS AS SHALANE FLANAGAN FINSHED 2ND AT THE 2010 NEW YORK CITY MARATHON. SHE JOINS KARA GOUCHER, BRONZE MEDALIST AT THE 2007 OSAKA WORLDS CHAMPIONSHIPS. PORTLAND AND OREGON ARE THE PLACE TO BE !
There are lots of old people here who don't get it. Tight assed people who don't get and never will.

Seriously dude, you need to get some therapy about your Oregon bitterness...and you Oregon haters too.
There is good and bad anywhere.
Life, and where you live, is what you make.

Bitterness? LOL, you guys are take the cake.
pssst. I'll let you in on a secret, that video is very popular in Portland right now. Of course, all of those people are bitter, too! Maybe they don't have tribal tattoos or something.
Malmo, seriously man, you are a strange guy. Get off your hatred tirade. Maybe a Portland chick dumped you or something, but get over it.
Oh my goodness, a hatred tirade, now? Aren't you the image of stability? You are going to have real hatred running through your veins when the show airs on Jan 21st.

Go ahead, blame me.
Literally just saw this snippet on the 10 o'clock news here in Portland:
Wages are, on average, 4% LESS in Portland than other cities of comparable size.
The cost of living is 84% HIGHER in Portland than other cities of comparable size, primarily fueled by the fact that homes prices are 30% HIGHER than other cities.
I can't see many young people retiring here with an outlook like this! :-)
I realize that it's not on the same scale as when the Obama Administration got worked up over a Saturday Night Live sketch, but you didn't just respond to a comedy show's promotional video with facts, did you?
Cost of living 84% higher than cities of comparable size sounds a bit embellished, doesn't it?

Looks like the dream of the 90s is still alive in Portland. ;-) Don't tell that all of the hot chicks don't really wear glasses?
You watch local news, I don't think you live in Portland.
