China's growth is bound to taper off within the next decade as incomes grow there and labor costs skyrocket. The same thing will likely happen in India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Latin America. Will Africa be hit by the next big wave of economic development? The continent will have 1.7 billion people by 2050 and will natural resources that have hardly been touched.
Africa will continually be ravaged by famine, civil war, genocide, and brutality -- until the end of time. And it is the white man's fault.

Africa is a continent, not a country. There are 53 countries in sub-saharan Africa alone. Some countries will do a lot better than others.

I realize that. Africa is far more diverse than China. Yet just as many places in Africa are stuck in the middle ages, there are many parts of China that are struggling economically. Still, I predict that many parts of Africa will look more like China now in terms of economic growth.

If Africa did not engage in idol worship, it would not be so horribly persecuted by the dark spiritual forces of wickedness. And, I have changed my mind. Since most civil wars are fought between black Africans, I can't quite figure out how I posted that this is the white man's fault. I must have had a moment of stupidity.
Europe has had her own issues. Two world wars in the 20th century, millions of lives lost, towns destroyed, yet she is doing OK now, only decades later.
Same with Japan. Two atomic bombs dropped on her following a world war. Yet doing great only decades later.

I don't think Africans blame slavery. The slave trade ended 200 years ago and it only affected the western part of the continent. People of African decent in America blame slavery, but they have reason to. Colonization's effects are still causing problems, the cold war too. But yeah, South East Asia had all the same problems (war, communism, authoritarianism, famine, etc.) and have managed to develop. Vietnam's life expectancy and child mortality rates are equal now to what the US's were during the Vietnam War.

The author looked at the economic development before when both areas of the world were very poor (I think that SE Asia was even poorer than Africa at the time) and recent times. He found that it was mostly the problems with the government and the policies that were passed, not other factors like neo-colonialism. I remember there being one African country that had done well, I think that it was Botswana and they had similar developmental policies as the SE Asian countries. If I can find the article online I will post it.

So, who wrote that article? Africans or non-Africans? If there was an African-based standard by which the rest of the world was judged, I bet the rest of the world would fail. So, when you judge Africans by non-African standard, what do you expect? Money, power, civilization and progress are not the only things in existence that validate being.
