Hi, i am doing my first 5k this weekend and am wondering what pace i should try and run. What time do you think i could run based on this workout. .
3 x 1 mile with 3min rec mile times were 4min48, 4min52 & 4min56.

Around 15:10
16:08
If those were my running times with that recovery that would mean I was just in 15:30 to 15:45. You have a different body, and as everyone always says, "we would need more information to have any sort of clue."
Still, maybe when people post predict my time threads based on one workout, what they are really looking to find out is what other people could do if they did the workout. maybe you find out some sort of average if everyone just says what they ran when they were running those types of workout times.
F*** off
It seems you faded throughout the workout. And 3 minutes of rest should have been plenty to avoid fading.
And, it's your first 5k (of this training cycle?)
If it were me, I'd probably start the race around 5:00 pace, and either work my way down or hang on depending on how the race goes.
You should have a fairly positive race result either way, either: 1.) you negative split, and are confident you can do better in race #2; or 2.) you run fairly evenly, having avoided overestimating your fitness and blowing up.
