Great idea. Certainly a great opportunity to get performances that will allow athletes to achieve entry into the Championship heats at the New Balance Indoor Nationals at the Armory in NYC if that is an athletes goal. Can someone answer some questions?
Initial invitations have been extended to certain individuals returning in 2010 and 2011 who have met the standards as posted on Flo Track. Will Brooks be covering the expenses for those invited to travel to Seattle to run at U Dub Dempsey Field House?
Certainly if athletes achieve performances that allow them to get into the 1st heats at New Balance Indoor Nationals performances will need to be adjusted for the over sized track so as allow for proper seeding vs marks made on a 200M oval?
I believe that records cannot be made on any tracks over 200M indoors for high school? True?
Seems if invited athletes have to pay their way to Seattle wouldn't they be better served traveling to NYC for a chance at a national title? Why would an East Coast athlete travel to Seattle when there are many indoor facilities for them to run on in the East Coast including the fast Armory?
One would think that this event will likely attract athletes from the West Coast or primarily from the Pacific NW where there really isn't an established indoor season for high school?
Peoples thoughts and answers.
