I really enjoyed the Pearl Izumi Streak, it's extremely light and very comfortable. I believe it's only 9oz or slightly lighter but anyways I would definitely recommend that shoe with the only exception being that they are hard to come by in stores so you'll have to order them online without being able to try them on.
the streak are like 90 bucks, are they just as good as the others?
bumps mumps?

I do virtually all of my running in the Mizuno Precision 10 and have liked them. One word to describe them: unobstrusive. They're like the faithful assistant who makes so few errors that after awhile you start to forget that she is there.
Contrary to reviews I have put very high milage on mine and they have held up well. The cushioning goes fairly fast but I don't run on pavement much so I don't worry about that. When I bought them last year the salespeople tried to steer me away on the grounds that they wouldn't hold up.
The new version (precision 11) is reportedly 10.2 ounces so unfortunately they are getting heavier, not lighter.
I really liked the Brooks Ghost 2 and went through 4 pairs of them. When the 3 came out, I was ready to buy another couple of pairs (I always cycle through at least 2 pair of shoes at a time) but thought I should try them on first. When I tried them on, the first thing I noticed was the "bulkier" feel to them. While they are still advertised as a lightweight, neutral trainer...something just didn't feel right about them.
I ended up going with the Wave Precision 10 and 11's (1 of each pair)...and I love them. Both of them seem to fit very well on my feet, I have high arches and this is really the first shoe that seems to "hug" my arch. Now these shoes are getting a little worn down, I'm either going with the Precisions again....or going with the Ghost 2 b/c Running Warehouse has them on sale for like $65 bucks right now.
Used to run in the Ghost...switched to the Launch and am very happy.
The Brooks Launch is a fine shoe that I can put a ton of miles on without having them wear too quickly. It's also lighter and more minimal than the ghost which is a plus for me.
Brooks Launch or Asics Speedstar would be my suggestions. Both are lighter with a slightly narrower fit (which I need).
The Ghost is very neutral, but it really isn't meant to be light. Precision and Wave Rider both have a lighter feel, but Mizuno tends to have a very distinct arch fit.
DS TRAINERS BRO
Ds trainers work for neutral folks? Or stability only?
Asics Speedstars!
Which version of Asics Speedstars? The newest ones OK? 5s?
I basically want something that has cushioning that will last awhile. so far i can get at least 400miles out of the ghost 3. i didnt like the ghost2 because the arch was too high in the insoles.
I second the Ascis Speedstar. It is a great light weight shoe that gets the job done. It has good width in the toe box too.
which version of the Speedstar? 5?
I like the 5s, though they take a week or two to feel good.
