Brett, your team is not going to make the playoffs, the weather is shitty, you didn't work out with the team in practice at all this week and you were ruled out just this morning. Let the young QB get some work in, if you are feeling good you can be the backup and if he sucks you go in. Pure selfishness on the part of Favre but I have always thought he is a POS human being and a ridiculously overrated QB.

Isn't it ultimately the coaches decision? He asks Favre, "Can you go?" Favre of course says yes. Up to the coach at that point.
Just be happy that in a few weeks we never have to hear about Favre again.

(1) How many years did YOU play in the NFL?
(2) How many Super Bowl rings do you have?
Two erroneous assumptions. First, it's a delusion to think the coach has more sway on Favre than Favre has over the coach, who established the dynamics of that relationship by going on bended knee to kiss the ring.
Secondly, whether he retires or not (with his honest word being sacrosanct) he will not go gentle into that good night. He loves the camera far too much, beleives his opinions should be scattered as freely as Halloween candy, and will end up on a sports network until he gets caught with his finger in the till, the till be code word for some intern's coochie.

I was unaware that in order to criticize anybody, you have to be more accomplished than them. If that were the case, this forum wouldn't exist.

I have the same feelings towards favre as I do liberals.
At first I feel anger & hatred because of their foolish ways.
After awhile of watching them fail time & time again I start to feel pity for their mental illnesses & ignorance.
Should I do something? Maybe show some compassion & start to root for them? or just let them carry on & self destruct?
I am not a Favre fan mainly because I tend not to like people who retire from sports and cannot stay retired. He obviously had some gas left in the tank as last year showed.
However, I would be okay with him playing to keep his streak alive. Just what does it take to maintain that streak? If he takes a snap and throws a ball and then leaves, does that count?
In this case, he gave it a go and was doing pretty well.
Do you really think that Joe Webb (who was not much of a passer in college) was going to offer them a chance to win?
Why can the Vikings not draft a legit QB? Tavarus Jackson and Joe Webb? Those are good QBs for a college spread option offense.
Perhaps they can pick a QB this year.

Webb may not give them a better chance to win but he is the QB of the future and he better get some snaps for the next few years.
