What are some good workouts for 5K training?
Got one coming up in about 8 weeks.
In the past I've done 3 x 1 mile near race pace or 6 x 800 meters a bit faster. Getting bored of those two workouts.

Try 1 x 5k with no training at all.
8 week peaking phase of carbo loading and stretching. Then try above.
If you guys are gonna post worthless stuff, at least make it funny.
to be fair you gave very little information. try some tempo runs and mess around with the rest on the interval workouts...
what about:
20 x 200m hill sprints with jog back recovery.
3 mile tempo run
Pyramids on the track- 4 x 300/600/1000/600/300m with 2 minutes recovery between each set and 1 minute between each rep.
3 x 1 mile with 3 mins recovery at 5k tempo pace.
30 minutes fartlek over trails/hilly terrain
Gym circuit session once a week (60 mins of plyometrics, stretching, core drills,light weights)
Start planning a suitable schedule thats suits you best.
2-3 sessions per week [plus gym as above).
