The coach I had in high school quit, and the sprinter coach now also coaches distance. My little sister tells me their workouts everyday and it is ridiculous. They were ranked #1 in their state at the start of the season, wound up 4th at the meet because he never peaked them...instead he made their workouts longer and harder as the season continued!!
He was head coach of track when I was in high school and I'm on really good terms with him. I want to give him a book on training as a Christmas present, I figure if I sugarcoat the gift as a compliment he'll read it and become a better coach.
What books do you recommend? I've only heard of Jack Daniel's Running Formula and unless this thread is suggestive of other boks will wind up purchasing that one for him.
