I see many posts on here tossing crap and hate at Brooks Johnson. Why is this? Love to hear the reasons why.

He's kinda like Mike Reilly at UO who is Vin's sidekick. The just get in the way and make life miserable for everyone around them. Brooks is full of himself and people don't like it.
He isn't white, so the racists here hate him.

Additionally, what a silly name.
Do a quick search and find out some of the things this clown has done. He has had far more failures than success and yet still loves to tell you that he has "solved the puzzle."
He walks and talks like the world owes him a huge favor. Plays the race card every chance he has. Uses his authority and position to make those around him feel inferior. Hell, he'd make Eleanor Roosevelt feel inferior.
His most popular MO is to pick up a world class athlete for a short period and then take full credit for any success they may have. What you don't hear about is all the failures along the way.
Let's not even get started on his relay coaching and the USATF involvement.
He does have one huge talent......always...always lands on his feet.
he's an ass.

He is the anti-Lydiard. Believes (or believed) the difference between a 3:30 and a 3:45 1500 runner was largely a difference in 200 meter speed, and trained people that way.

LOL. You obviously don't know Brooks. He stands up at clinics and talks his white hate constantly. Brooks is a racist in a high power position. That is why people who actually have contact with him don't like him.
I don't believe you. The old Stanford crowd of runners he used to coach in the 1980s (Jeff Atkinson, Matt Giusto, Dave Frank, Cece Hopp (St. Geme), Regina Jacobs (before Tom Craig), Patty Sue Plummer, Marc Oleson, they all loved Brooks Johnson from what I hear.
He very well may be full of himself but I would never have thought Matt Guisto would have developed into a 3:36 1500 runner. He did nothing in college to suggest he had that in him. That NCAA 5000 he won was weak. But he went from middle of the road national class to competing for US national titles whe he started training with Johnson,
Brooks is the best coach Stanford T&F ever had that's for sure.

Not quite true. If he treated you like a princess then you tolerated him.
He's O.K. A typical competitive guy. What do you expect from a jock ? Brooks was certainly better than any other coach the Stanweenies ever had.
I saw Johnson speak recently. Did not seem like a racisit to me.
If you're a 10k runner, you know about the last 5 laps; a marathoner, the last 5 miles. A hurdler? The last two hurdles & the run-in. You pole vault? You know about the last five steps.
Brooks drums the critical zone ad infinitum. His most successful athletes get it.
There was a 4 year stretch with the High Performance clinic was in Vegas where I saw some of the most blatant racism and cronism I have ever witnessed in a remotely organized gathering.

Coach: Brooks can I make a point here?
Brooks: Of course, your white , your over 21 and your free, go ahead!

Giusto was listed as one of the athletes on the BALCO web site (mid 1990s).
