Because no one else who trains full time can run that fast.
Goes to show what is possible if you have the support to train that hard.
Nate is a former D2 runner who jacked up his mileage and eventually came in 7th in the marathon at the Olympic Trials.

Only if you had to run 140-150 miles a week to get that fast.

WOAH YOU ARE SO SICK DUDE!
The only reason he ran that fast is because of that kid who took it out in a ballsy 31
Because of or despite 140-150 miles per week?
Reading some of his training log raises some questions about his approach.

Wow, Steve Spence was a former Div. II runner who improved and won the Olympic Trials, maybe if he would have trained more like Nate he too could have finished 7th.

We'll never know.
Nate has that "loss of coordination in leg problem" like all the people in that huge 41 page thread. This one..

.
He can't run longer than a few minutes at a fast pace before it starts acting up on him. It's been like that for awhile now.
Who was that who took out the pace at 31?
Jenkins may not be the perfect model for what everyone, or even he, should do for training, but don't underestimate his inspirational qualities. He's most certainly a local legend in eastern MA. He's a great publicity guy for Saucony in that he posts complete, annotated, and honest logs of his daily training, something very few elite runners do. Whether or not running 150mpw is the best way to train, he inspires other guys locally and nationally to up their mileage and put in the work to improve. Whether or not he gets back to 2:1low is irrelevant to the positive effect he has had on many people's training. The fact that he comes out for low-key races is a reminder to young up-and-comers that the only difference between them and him is time and hard work.

This is true.

As I'm a bit slow, I've having trouble figuring out who is being sarcastic and who is serious?
