"....I have never in all my years felt like a guy was such a living embodiment of what this was all about, what we're doing here. You know, 'running was my light in the darkness, running kept me alive, running was my salvation.' That's what we advocate and preach, that's what we're doing here, is promoting and developing running to really help people. But this guy, it literally saved his life. And it was like he was meant to be here this week. It really was."
Running is that? Really? Who in their right mind would view a sport like this? If we can be honest and I'm not sure we can be, isn't this type of heart level language mainly set aside referring to God? It's in the DNA of all humanity to worship...and I guess that is what is might be happening here. Worship. You can worship running, or God, or yourself, or whatever. I'm not saying that Mary W. is an atheist, but even the atheist worships something. It may not be God but they are worshiping. Go to any Rock concert, any sporting event...that is worship. I'm not sure I have a question here but mainly an observation. I just find it mind numbing that people would attach worship to running. (or anything else on earth for that matter)
