Coming back from my run this morning, I find that the wife and kids are off on some errand and they accidentally(?) locked the door. Since the mother-in-law is just a mile and a half away, I extend my run to jog over and get a spare key from her.
On the way over there, I pass a lady jogging on the same side of the street in the opposite direction who gives me a fistbump in greeting. This was surprising at first, but I was overall pleased with it. I tend to vary my other-runner greeting: sometimes an audible "Mornin'", sometimes a finger point, sometimes a simple head nod, sometimes a wave, or any combination of these. But I always felt there was something missing. That "something" has been filled with the fistbump.
I propose we promote the fistbump as the standard runner-to-runner greeting. Anybody with me?
