No.
"Carbon footprints" are just a trendy way to discuss things or act like you are environmentally friendly. I don't need to know my "carbon footprint" to take actions that I think are beneficial to my own and/or the "planet's" well-being.
I don't know my "carbon footprint" or drive a "hybrid," but I am very confident that I have a better overall impact on the environment through general lifestyle choices than the majority of people who do.

Most runners do. They run everywhere and do not use much gas. Sadly, those who speak about carbon footprints are all gas.
My carbon footprint is a size 9.5 hiking boot. I used the following calculation
C(f)= [3x^3 - (1/2y^2)ln(c) + 3*T(f)]/e^4.3
Is T time or temp.?
I calculated mine a couple of weeks ago and decided I was not doing enough to contribute to the world carbon pool. So since then, I have burned five reams of non-recycled paper every day, that I get by driving my hummer to the store (the walmart across town, not the one down the street). Your welcome. Global Warming FTW!

T is often used to signify Time and/or Temp. This is variably dependent on the hemisphere of origin.
I agree with you. I don't really care about my carbon footprint. Just curious if others do.
Yeah, but I'm interested in being part of the solution, not the problem...
I asked my cows what they were doing to help, and they only farted and said "Moo". Seriously, when are they going to do their part?
I'm having trouble figuring out motivation here. If you reduce your carbon footprint are you more likely to get into heaven? Be more attractive to members of the opposite sex (or the same sex, if that's what you're into, not that there's anything wrong with that)? Make more money?

Ummm, how about being a responsible person, a steward of the planet, an example in your community, and trying to leave just a small dent, instead of gaping wound in the environment???
But as for personal footprint, you are pretty screwed if you fly anywhere, ever.
