Now that I am done with school and only have one season that I have to peak for (outdoor track) I am stumped on the best way to structure my year. I am training for a 1500/mile.
Normally with a cross season and indoor I would do the regular summer base, then train for xc with a peak in Nov. followed by a short break. I would then build mileage back but with more quality than in summer, have a small peak in indoor, then finally peak again in outdoor.
What sort of training should I do during the fall? Mile specific or xc type stuff? Maybe a little of both.
Also should I take a short break sometime in there, winter maybe, to avoid burnout?
Those are just a few specific questions I had, but any help for structuring the whole year is appreciated.
