So the NF50 video on the homepage has given my interest its peak, I need to know more. Out of curiosity and in need of reading material, I recently finished McDougal's book "Born to Run" and I feel this strange pull for ultrarunning everywhere I look. I have questions. I realize I could go on countless websites and find countless answers, but I know people here have them and this board needs serious conversation. No SAT score needed, my first question is related to 50 or 100 mile races and is thus:
How are these races run in terms of pacing? Do you start out like its an easy run pace and just slowly decelerate and hold on? Do people actually run "conservative" in the early miles and negative split? Is that even possible? I know I can find ave miles at most sites, but I'm curious how its obtained and achieved.
