How about them Adizeo's?

The Adizeos is great!

I run in the rocket, currently on my 2nd pair. good shoe, seems to hold up well, minimal heel and low offset (6mm, feels less), middle of the road weight (but I prefer the extra durability rather than giving up a few oz, i.e. Mizuno Wave Universe 3, etc) Not a lot of room in the toe box, relatively narrow. I really need a size 11.25, but I wear 11s with super thin socks.

I mail ordered ~14 different flats from a variety of companies (all with free return shipping), until I found a pair I liked. That's how I ended up with Rockets. One alternative to your local running store not carrying them.

I just started running in the Adizero Pro Ekiden, and I love them so far. I'm not familiar with the LT's but the Pro's feel very light (6.3 oz) and have a high (deep?) but not wide toe-box. They're listed as having a 7mm drop, but they feel lower to me.

I'm really liking running in them and am planning to run a half marathon in them in a few months.

They are the best performance line of shoes out of all the shoe companies. In my opinion Adidas makes the best flats and lightweight trainers in their Adizero line, but that is just an opinion

I agree there, though I would jump a dude in an alley to steal a pair of size 12 cubatos. I'm racing in the adizeros and am pleased.

Now, I've narrowed it down to the Adios Ekiden and the Pro Ekiden. The midsoles on both of them look very similar to the LT. I've pretty much ruled out the Rocket now.

Anyone know the real differences between the Pro and the Adios?

The adios ekiden weighs 7.4 ounces while the pro ekiden weighs 6.2 ounces. The adios is a fantastic trainer for tempo runs, fast long runs, and marathons. Many local guys will race in every distance in them. The pro is only sold at Running Warehouse so it is harder to find though it is an amazing half marathon and down racer for the very serious runner. If you are looking to just wear a pair of lightweight shoes around and you hate vibrams, either of these two shoes are great for that. adidas sure has been making great lightweight shoes lately.

With that said, I have also found success with the Adizero Manas, although they are posted, but it doesn't seem to bother me much at all. You might give them a try, they are reminiscent of the LTs and similar in weight and feel.

Also, I'd recommend trying the Nike Free 3.0s (now available at runningwarehouse.com) if your foot fits correctly in them, I now train almost exclusively in them and I love them!

The LTs look like they have a bigger heel than the Rockets. They look like a more substantial shoe, is that true?

I also have Nike Free 3.0s and there is a huge difference in my foot strike between the Rockets and the Frees. I feel like I'm leaning forward just standing in the Frees and it's much easier to heel strike.

I used to love the Free 3.0 until I started running with shoes that have smaller offsets and thinner heels. I wish Nike would come out with a Free 1.0 or 2.0 with a flat heel.

Someone on the interwebs cut their heel off, but I can't find it now and don't feel like wasting the time. It looks like crap, but does the job.

Would the Mana work well for track workouts?

Yeah I've always considered the Manas since they're basically the LT with a post (At least the older models were). But I'm a very neutral runner, so the post always scared me away.

So you mean to tell me there really isn't much difference at all? If so, them I'm pretty much sold on the Manas.

I think this may be what you are referring to...I am thinking of doing it myself, I'll let you know how it goes.
