San Diego is O.K. We're here for Footlocker Nats. It was high 87 today. But why does it get so cold here ? It will be low 47 this morning when I go for a run. I'll have to run with a jacket. That's sucks !

Boo-f-ing-hooo
How can you people live like that. Such misery.
Sounds a lot like global cooling to me. Are glaciers coming in from the east?
OK but, get real ! wrote:

It's a dry, desert climate. There's not a significant amount of moisture in the air that would retain the heat from the day. This is why deserts can be hot during the day, but be very cold during the night.
47 with a jacket? I'm still in a shirt and shorts at that temp.
Hope this is a joke. Wind chill here is probably gonna be -40 the next 2 days.
Dry desert? Are you kidding me? San Diego is a coastal city, with plenty of moisture in the air not dry but yes lack of rain makes it on paper relate to a desert climate. But at balboa park which is 10 min from the ocean it is not a desert climate.
The rainfall patterns in San Diego are very much indicative of a desert (i.e. very little annual rainfall with most of it coming from Dec-Mar). Conditions can be foggy during certain times of the year but what you have the past few days that is causing the hot temperatures is the Santa Ana Wind which dry out the air, creating very low levels of humidity - thus the big temperature changes during the day. In May/June when there tends to be a lot of fog temperatures vary by very little during the day - perhaps 65-70 for the high and 60 for the low.

obviously a troll.
San Diego is Chaparral. it's more Mediterrainian than desert. It's a coastal biome.
