How do you run the 600? (you as in you personally)
How do you run the 600? (you as in you personally)
Like a short, aggressive 800.
How old are you and what are your times?
1) Run a 400, keep going.
2) Run an 800, stop early.
Me, personally, I split the difference, but that's just me.
run it like an 800 but kick with 200-250 to go
One step at a time.
Go through 400 @ 2 seconds faster than you could if running an 800.
About halfway between 400 pace and 800 pace.
I find a track and run one and a half times around it.
Run it like a 400 and suffer like no other race.
The 600 is for 400 meter guys, not 800
good guy, I agree with uncle B
Something about the 200m that occurs between 600-800 that I could never get down. But I loved the 600. We did 600yds,, but the idea was to go out at a pace that would bring you through your 44 or 400 within 1.5 sec of your PR ad hang on. Most painful race in indoor track and by far the most rewarding. Only thing that compares is the 400 hurdles outdoors.
Slowly
I loved the 600 yards indoors. Tried to come through 400m about 2 sec. slower than my 400m PR. Not always easy to do, because everyone breaks for the rail after 200m or so and at breakneck speed, you can have to run a lot of extra distance if you don't get inside.
It's all about getting after it and holding on - any hesitation at all will cost you dearly, because you won't be able to get around people on tight turns running at 25-26 sec. per lap.
