Some changes in the BAA hierarchy in the news. Grilk was president of BAA now Executive Director. Grilk has been around forever and is well respected. It will be interesting to see what changes/improvements are made. Any thoughts?

Tom is a good guy and the best person for the job. He also has the distiction of being the 100th best performer on the all-time (circa 1982) GBTC Marathon list.
Tom is a very tall and still fit guy who ran 2:49 in 1979. I asked him last year about his running program in the late 70's and he told me he was running 80-90 miles a week while working at his law firm job.
All so that he could make that top 100 list:) or perhaps he just loved to run and wanted to truly test himself.
Don't see as much of that today.
I still think they should change the qual times to A standards and B standards.
Say 2:50 for a 25 year old man gets you in automatically. A 3:10 puts you in the lottery or first come first served, who cares.
If there were a tough standard to shoot for I might actually try to get in the race. As it is now, it isn't much different than any other marathons.
