I really wanted to know how certain teams performed at NCAA xc, but had to wait to find out until results were confirmed and the 30-minute protest window was over. How many sports make you wait to know the result (even if it's unofficial)? In football, we know the preliminary call of a play immediately. If there's a protest, at least we know what the original call was. Would it be a bad thing to know unofficial results since they can be provided as soon as runners cross the finish line. Here is a simulation of what it could be like from the 2010 Mountain Region women's race.
