I am a junior in high school and am looking forward to running D1 XC and indoor/outdoor track. My summer training is something like 55 miles a week with a long run and some tempos and hills here and there. What would a summer training plan look like from a D1 school? Particulary IU or Wisconsin. Do they just give mileage or is it also cross training stuff?
If you're good enough to be considering schools like IU or Wisconsin just ask the coach what they do for summer training

I'm pretty sure that college coaches aren't allowed to contact high school juniors.
But a HS junior can contact a coach. Never mind that a HS junior needn't worry about summer base for college. Get over yourself, kid.

It's gonna basically be the same as what you are doing, but with more mileage and longer tempos and long run. 100 miles a week and a two hour long run are very common not with just Wisconsin or IU, but with most top NCAA XC teams.
If you are interested in these schools, just email the coach and ask him some questions.
