Deer Brojos. It is not "Footlockers." It is "Footlocker".
Thanks.

Deer major a-hole:
National Championships-> Nationals
County Championships-> Countys
Olympic Games-> Olympics
World Championships-> Worlds
Do you get the pattern yet?
Deer Waterboy:
Regional Championships = Regionals
State Championships = States
I get that for a generic term.
Pennsylvania Championships =/= Pennsylvanias
California Championships =/= Californias
Footlocker is a proper name. It is Footlocker or The Footlocker Cross Country Championships. A kid is a Footlocker Finalist, not a Footlockers Finalist.
Footlocker is not the same as States, or Regionals, or Nationals.
I never understood why someone would say "we are trying to go States." It's the State Championship, not multiple states or multiple championships. You go to the state championship meet to see who is the best individual and team the state.
I, too, say State. Not States. That is my preference. However, I do realize there are enough people out there who say States that it is common and acceptable. Even team mates of mine in high school would say States.
Footlocker is a proper, albeit company, name. You don't say you are going to run at Prefontaines or Pres (Pre Classic).
If you really want to be picky, it's actually Foot Locker, not Footlocker.

Unless it's a state like NJ, who has 4 "State Championships", Group 1, 2, 3, 4. The winners of each division is the State Champion of that division. So technically, since they're all held on the same day, you're going to "States" (Group 1 State Champ, Group 2 State champ, etc). The runner only ran in "1" State Championship however.
Then if they qualify for the Meet of Champions, that's a whole other ballgame

I've heard people call Nationals "USA's" (like Evan Jager in his interviews) so I'd disagree with you. People don't say Californias but they do just keep adding an "s" to substitute games or championships regardless of what the word is
I believe it is "Dear Brojos." So perhaps you are even now.
DEAR:
1. beloved or loved: a dear friend.
2. (used in the salutation of a letter as an expression of affection or respect or as a conventional greeting): Dear Sir.
Okay, which of these two are the Brojos to you.
DEER
3. internet speak used as a greeting. Similar to Hey You, or simply Hey!
Deer Brojos: = Hey, Brojos!:
They're are more the first or the second than the following:
Definition of DEER
1 archaic : animal; especially : a small mammal
2 : any of numerous slender-legged ruminant mammals (family Cervidae, the deer family) having usually brownish fur and antlers borne by the males of nearly all and by the females of a few forms
And are you making up this internet speak thing? Just because it gets texted to you doesn't mean it's right.
BTW, IMHO...ROFOL...ASL?

At the same time, Footlocker is not a state, so it's not like you're using the proper noun for a geographical region. When a word gets so overused, people tend to use catch-all words like "footlockers". Footlocker is probably more common, but when you're not talking about Footlocker in a personal context, like you are a part of footlocker, some people prefer to use a catch-all term that describes a well-established form of championship. So, you're right, no one says someone is a Footlockers Finalist, but if you're just casually mentioning it, there's no need to add championships on the end when the word championships is assumed by the 's' on the end of the word.

In, guess what... that's right, multiple categories!

Actually, a deer is an animal. It has NEVER been internet slang... ever.
Nah. Deer is fine.
Keep up with the times.
Well excuse me, I didn't realize you were the gatekeeper for proper internet slang.
I always thought internet slang was an ever growing, ever changing, form of slang. I though all slang was ever open to adaptation. You have obviously decided to lock the doors on internet slang evolution.
Slang is clever. It makes sense. It is fun to use.
But the deer/dear usage is nothing like that. It isn't an acronym, and there is no connection between greeting someone and the animal we all know from Bambi. It is akin to screwing up to/two/too or there/their/they're. That's not slang, that's just dumb.
BAMBI = Born-Again Middle-Aged Biker
