This week I'll get about 110 miles in, but.....
11 of these runs were 2 miles or less. I've been running to and from the library, which is 1.3ish miles from my house. I've done a quadruple 2 days this week. And one day this week I ran 5 different times.
Is this better or worse than just running doubles?

Why are you running so many miles? Unless you have taken 2:22+ off your 5k, I'd say back off the miles and ride your bike to the library.

1600= 4:28 last track season. tactical 2:20 for 800
3200= 9:46 last track season. Tactical 5:01 first mile.
5k= 15:44 over the summer in roadrace as a tempo. Went through 3 miles of an 8k in 14:56.
8k= 25:31.
And I have no bike! And the only reason I'm running to the library is to study for finals. And also my car is broke donw. But finals are over. I was just wondering if this was better than doubles. It sure is easier.

When I was like 13 I used to hang out at the pool all day. We would have "break" every hour when kids weren't allowed in the pool. I would put in like 60 a week off running 2 or 3 miles during break (obviously it took a little longer than the break period). I have no idea if this was better than just doing 7-9 per day, but it was sort of fun.

-you're just a flat out a$$hole, dude. no getting around that fact. i'd be curious to see a link and verification of your fastest 5. if you give the 'ol, "that shouldn't matter bs", then maybe you shouldn't be talking? most people on here wouldn't say the majority of the things they said if they were having to say it to their face.
Runs of 2 miles or less don't count as runs.
One day last summer I ran a mile at 7/min pace once an hour from 7am - 10 pm. It felt like I hadn't run at all.
I don't think these really short runs are anything more than a slight warmup. You arent teaching your body to burn fat, not getting your heart rate up much unless you are going pretty fast, and it's probably not doing anything for your aerobic endurance.
