Does anyone have or know where to find the all-time world list for sub 4:00 milers?
I have the US list and I know up to some point there weren't a lot of guys outside of the US. So I'm sure it can pieced together with the help of Track&Field News yearly lists.
Anyone want to start posting the data here as we go and see if we can come up with a list?
This would be a good challenge for Malmo.
There was some bloke floating around for a while that went OK. From memory his name was J. Walker

tilastopaja.org has deep all time list's over 1000 deep in the mile and much deeper in the 1500
they're missing

Wow. Am I missing something here? When were there more Americans on the list than non americans. I do not consider myself a "historian", but I can't remember a time when that was the case.

Close. Wish I had done it in this race, because I would have been the first runner to break 4:00 and finish 10th. I think that Jeff Jirele ended up being the first 10th placer to break 4:00.
