Here we go again, another idiot who thinks Arm warmers are not used by top athletes. You need to to get this through your narrow minded brain! Losing body heat through your arms is WASTED ENERGY, it's stupid not to stay warm when you can stay warm so easily, it allows you you to focus more energy to actually running! Difference between them and a long sleeve, is that long sleeves don't breath as well as the tight fitted dri-fit arm warmers, but running in a long sleeve tight fitted shirt would be really uncomfortable!

Now lets look at some good runners who use them: Dathan Ritzenhein, Ryan Hall, Shalane Flanagan, Meb Keflezighi, Edna Kiplagat, Samuel Wanjiru (Chicago 09 winner), Marilson Gomes dos Santos (new york 08 winner), Kara Goucher... Do I really need more

Taking a 6 minute rest is to long.

I think he means each interval totals 6 minutes. So if he ran 5:00 he'd rest for a minute.

I will be running 3k tomorrow, goal of 8:40.

Your best workout was the 5Xmile on a 6 min cycle. That would project a 14:45. The guy trying to make jokes about a 6 min rest obviously is a jackass. With that said I think your goal of 8:40 realistic. How old are you and what are your goals?
