What an incredible performance today. I know Saratoga 2004 was dominant, but I think that this team edges Saratoga 2004 out by a little Incredible.

Agreed, greatest of ALL TIME!!!!!
Tough to say, have to remember Saratoga '04 had a incredible top 4 (4 footlocker finalists) But as you said Fm '10 is just plain awesome. Tough to pick one.

They may be damn good, but saying they are the best team ever is awfully naive. There were teams in the 70s believe it or not that would put any team today to the test and best them one.
On the girls side i doubt it. I dont think it's to naive to say FM'10 is the best girls team of all time. Saratoga 2004 could also be that and a lot of experts would agree with both.
F-M has there top four back next year.
Make that "their".
They are definitely the best girls team ever. NXN is much more competitive now than in 2004 and their winning score would win a dual meet.
I live in Cali. But they are the best team ever. Best high school program ever.
Goes to show what you can do when you have a coach who has complete disregard for the health of his girls. If Coach aris is a good coach than coach Ma is a freakin genius.
They are Best In Show 2010. Not an NC.

could you explain? what does their coach do that other top hs coaches dont/that you think is bad for their health?
i've been trying to understand what they do differently...
Aris is a great coach. His is passionate about the sport and the kids buy into his philosophy. Why disparage the man and his program. As for FM being the best team ever? I don't know Aisling Cuffe is a lot better than the FM girls. Would 4 of them qualify for Footlocker like the Saratoga squad? I still like Toga 04

I agree. It seems like the accusations, posted above and elsewhere, are totally baseless. The only real difference that I have seen is what you said- his kids buying in.

My guess is that four of the FM girls would have qualified for FLN this year. They put three girls ahead of two FL qualifiers and a fourth only four seconds behind the second of those two. They destroyed a field that included top runners from across the country, a far deeper field than Saratoga ran against in 2004.
It may be a close call but I think FM 10 should be accorded the title of best ever girls team.
your opinion is very wrong. Saratoga in 04 was better. their performance at FLNE would have dominated FM. No offense to FM, I am a huge fan and think they are amazing. But but i'm not even sure this performance was their best ever, so definitely not the all time best.

It's the best I've ever seen.
I don't think I have ever even heard of a team which competes consistently at a higher level. When was the last time they won any meet of any kind? 4 years? 5?
Christie Rutledge - 158 - 159 (-1)
Katie Sischo - 148 - 143 (+5)
Jillian Fanning - 148 - 154 (-6)
Heather Martin - 141 - 136 (+5)
Courtney Chapman - 133 - 140 (-7)
Runner - NXN Speed Rating - NY State Meet Speed Rating (Difference, higher speed rating is better).
Their NXN race was, as a team, just slightly off from their state meet race.
Here's a head to head match-up I did between the FM State Meet performance, and the 'Toga 04 Footlocker qualifier performance.
Saratoga 2004
Nicole Blood 164
Hannah Davidson 160
Lindsey Ferguson 152
Caitlin Lane 152
Karen Delay 135
FM 2010
Christie Rutladge 159
Jillian Fanning 154
Katie Sischo 143
Courtney Chapman 140
Heather Martin 136
Katie Brislin 136
Scored as a duel meet
1- Nicole Blood 164
2- Hannah Davidson 160
3- Christie Rutladge 159
4- Jillian Fanning 154
5- Lindsey Ferguson 152
6- Caitlin Lane 152
7- Katie Sischo 143
8- Courtney Chapman 140
9- Heather Martin 136
10- Katie Brislin 136
11- Karen Delay 135
Saratoga: 1-2-5-6-11 = 25
FM: 3-4-7-8-9-(10)= 31
The same duel meet with the FM NXN scores goes like this.
1- Nicole Blood 164
2- Hannah Davidson 160
3- Christie Rutladge 158
4- Lindsey Ferguson 152
5- Caitlin Lane 152
6- Katie Sischo 148
7- Jillian Fanning 148
8- Heather Martin 141
9- Karen Delay 135
10- Courtney Chapman 133
Saratoga: 1-2-4-5-9 = 21
FM: 3-6-7-8-10 = 34
While I'm more impressed by what FM did at nationals (and at states this year and last) I still say Saratoga 2004 was the faster team.
