I am running a marathon in late June, and I would like to begin training for it starting on next Monday. My personal best at 5k is 17:28, I'd like to run my first marathon in sub 2:50, but I'd be very happy with sub 3 as well. I haven't run consistently in about two weeks but I was in pretty dang good shape for me (4 mile 23:51 easy effort tempo a month ago, 5 flat mile shape, ran one horrible race though) and I was running about 40 miles per week, but I'd like to start doing 50mpw from the get go and build up to 70mpw near race day. First I have to get back in sub 17:30 shape, but I want to do that through marathon training. Any advice from the LetsRun community?
