Should be a good year, d2 has been improving these last few years. But with this said, all the baby jokes will begin. Even though my team would have qualified for d1 nats.

It's not baby nationals, BUT, with the exception of CSM, D2 schools are horrible academic institutions, and on those grounds, it should not be respected.

You really proved a point about the academics of all d2 schools...good thing you're here to guide everyone away from them

I left one of the top DI XC powerhouse schools to run for a DII program because the academics were better.

Like saying you left Denny's to go to Sizzler.
Neither. Most people really just don't care about D2 athletics. True for basketball, football, XC, ... and everything else. Get over it.

And most people don't care about the Scripps National Spelling Bee, but Espn shows it. Why? Probably because there's either a hint of interest in it or they don't want to show another replay of sportscenter.
So as long as there's interest in it (which there is) the idea of getting some coverage is very viable.
for all the people that run DII, nats are pretty exciting, even if you didn't qualify.
I'm excited to see what happens!
GO WESTERN WASHINGTON!
Actually, you'd be suprised as to how many people ARE interested in the Spelling bee. Any sort of show where the viewer themself can take part (by trying to figure out the word themself) is going to strike an interest in some of the more scholarly public. Not to mention, this kind of competition doesn't just encompass a country, but the whole globe. The mere thought of televising a D2 meet would make ESPN shit their pants. D1 barely gets any coverage, and it's supposedly more appealing. I mean, if your so concerned about it, then when don't you pay someone to stream it for you?
Supposedly it's to be streamed live via NCAA.com on Saturday

"The Scripps National Spelling Bee televised by ESPN last week drew 4 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research, while Game 4 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Chicago Blackhawks and Philadelphia Flyers had 3.1 million viewers."
