After all the hype, short movies and interviews leading up to Chicago and NYCM races I feel let down as a fan of the sport on the lack of post race wrap up coverage -reflection pieces from runners and coaches. It is hard to really care about any individual runners or the sport when the media only kicks in ~2months to 2weeks prior promoting a race. There is no continuity of coverage. (Imagine being a football fan but only hearing about one game "the Superbowl" starting 2 months before and relatively nothing after the game ends.)
It seems all the elite runners (we are suppose to follow and cheer on) and coaches have crawled into a hole. Flotrack got very fews post race interviews but if the race had gone differently they would have gotten ALLOT more. The only voices we hear are our own bashing the terrible performances and guessing at the causes--nothing from the horse's mouth. This lack of access severly limits the sport's appeal and fanbase.
As a fan I want to hear the recap. I want coverage throughout the year not just in bursts of coverage centered on very few events. I want the whole story.
