Basketball shoes suck to run in, like a lot. Why do Basketball players wear them? What could they possibly have over a good pair of running shoes? They're loose, heavy, and all around sh!tty

You're obviously someone who has never played basketball or played basketball competitively.
The shoes are aggressive to help with a quick first step, have treads designed to grip to hardwood, and provide ankle support you're just not going to get with running shoes. When I stopped playing ball in my running shoes my basketball game improved tremendously.
some bball guys like gilbert arenas prefer low top because it allows him to be quicker. on a side note, it's much more uncomfortable to wear basketball shoes throughout the day than running shoes because of the difference in breathability. My athlete's foot would somewhat worsen when wearing those bball shoes. Let this be a lesson to you.

I am in the market to get new BBall shoes. I have a wide foot with high arches. I always in the past went with high tops however was thinking of getting lows for a change. My biggest fear as my ankles are dodgey going lows will not have the support. Any recommendations I would appreciate. My first look I was looking at was New Balance TWO WXY V2
