Except that it really doesn't accomplish anything. It's all postulating. As Mr. Obvious has already stated, they are simply going to charge $0.50 for the toy. If a parent is bringing their child to McDonalds because the child wants a toy and the parent is unable to say 'no', $0.50 isn't much of a barrier. In fact, if the toy can now be bought separately, I'd assume some kids will end up getting an adult value meal (Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, etc), with said $0.50 toy, leading to kids ingesting more calories.
