Unfortunate, but not surprising. Well written article.
Good article.
So the writer has known this most of the year?
I'd like to see Eddy H come back and post here for open discussions.
He was a prolific poster back in the day.
It's good to know these things about the sport.
I couldn't read it all, but I did manage to read the part "I did" and "he liked winning a lot of money".
He cross the line of no return as far as I am concerned! Screw him and his honesty...shit fire! He got caught and this is the only reason for him coming clean, what joke of a runner/man! If he really wants to do right give back on the metals and earnings!
what sorry ass
Great article, thanks for posting.
great article, and clearly the wife is "far from innocent".
See this excerpt from a 2004 article:
Albuquerque distance runner Eddy Hellebuyck, slapped on Thursday with a two-year suspension, once again denied through his wife having used a banned, performance-enhancing substance.
Shawn Hellebuyck, her husband's agent and manager, on Friday sharply criticized the conduct of an appeal process that failed to reverse the findings against the 43-year-old athlete.
"It wasn't an arbitration, it was an ambush," Shawn Hellebuyck said Friday morning by cell phone from Chicago, her hometown. "... They weren't required to share any data with us. It was like getting a bill without an itemized statement.
"I wish we could get this in a court of law. It would never hold up."
Eddy Hellebuyck was out running, Shawn said, and was unavailable for comment. Shawn Hellebuyck added that she's trying to shield her husband from most of the fallout regarding the suspension.
Yes - She really comes out of this the worse.
I hated how she was upset that he had ratted on the Russian - we need all of these drug cheats to be ratted on if the sport is going to be clean. She clearly thinks nothing of anyone else other than herself.
It delights me that, at the very least, several runners will be petrified that they will be ratted on.
Now get Teddy M. to admit what everyone else knows.
Shvetsov's name has come up in this kind of talk for years. Nobody had the goods or resources to put it on the record, but I live all the way over on the East Coast and I've been hearing about him for years.
Just check some of those quotes of Eddy's about EPO. He sends exactly like a junkie.

Reading it all would truly test your medal.
What I found most interesting is how logical doping seemed to Eddy. Look at some of the recent threads here: "Masters PRs", "At what age did you start feeling old?" etc.
Seems quite natural for runners to worry about their abilities diminishing with age. Of course, there is a world of difference between running extra strides and doping, but the motivations and end results might be the same.
