I've heard many people use these labels interchangeably and it seems to cause a good deal of consternation, especially among those hardcore runners out there.
I want to know what people here think of it. What is running? What is jogging? What sets the two apart from each other? Can they ever mean the same thing? Why?
I'll go first: To me, running has more of a psychological aspect to it as well as physical, while jogging is just a physical activity. A runner seems more in tune with his/her body and is more mentally tough, while a jogger simply goes through the motions as a quick way to lose weight. At a certain point a jogger may graduate to runner status, but I don't know when that would happen. I just know I would never *dream* of calling Solinsky a jogger.
