What state do you think produces the best runners for the assets it has? Try to take into consideration natural terrain and the size of the state. I'm basically asking a pound for pound, inch for inch, type question.

I'm biased, as will most people that post here, but based on what I know. My homestate of Michigan is at least in the running for best state. The last American to win a distance medal at the Olympics is from Michigan as is the last American to win the Boston Marathon. More recently, if you go by homestate, collegian runners coming from Michigan won the last NCAA meet. And it's population is much smaller than texas or cali. But some decent colleges probably cause a good coaching pool to be available to the high schoolers, much like Ohio. Illinois is definitely in the running for best state: tim broe, torres, sage.
I'm interested to see the other posts.
How many times is this same trivial question going to be hashed out here? What is the point?
Ohio: Jesse Owens; Dave Wottle; Edwin Moses; Butch Reynolds; Bob Kennedy; Mark Croghan; Tom Byers;
The Nandi District kicks every single U.S. state's ASS!! All of them combined, too!
Illinois: Craig Virgin, Jim Spivey, Tony Sandoval, Don Sage, Jackie Joyner Kersee, Greg Foster, Robert Gary, Tim Broe, Jorge Torres, Ed Torres, and a host of others.

I need to show no proof. It just is. If you've ever been to Forest Park or Hayward Field, you know what I'm talking about.
