cool. now go away
What is the maximum amount of semesters allowed?
I'm a 1:51/ 3:48 guy. Done 6 semesters and completed a BA degree. Not American and looking to try and get in to an american university.
Am i eligible?
10 semesters
I think this is the story referenced on the front page-
Anyone is eligible at Adams. Their coach bends the rules further than a slinky and no one seems to care.
Sad, given how much that program used to pride themselves on not utilizing foreign ringers.
God damnit!
Maybe Luke Cragg will get on here and go apesh** like he did at nationals. Nothing like seeing a 25 year old screaming at 18 year old kids from Mines.
Except I think it was Aaron Heun (27?? year old Mines alumni) that he was going apeshit at. I'd call it fair game after Heun was on Letsrun all year talking shit about Adams when he had no evidence about anything.
So please keep your lies and trying to make people look bad to yourself.
Come on lets not turn this into the new D2 predictions aka trash talking thread.
One thing I did find interesting was that there were endless posts on that thread, page after page saying all kinds of things about Adams State and their runners which pretty much amounted to libel in my view. And yet nothing was done about it and it was allowed to continue.
However as soon as there were some dergoatory posts about a female athlete from Western the thread was brought down immediately.
I think that shows which schools do and which schools dont pay attention to this messageboard trash talk.
Cragg is way over the amount of allowable semesters. Do not pretend otherwise. I dont care enough to turn anyone in but spare us all the sanctimony please.
d2 has much different rules for eligibility than D1. Your clock can stop if you are not enrolled full time so allowable semesters do not really apply. plus if you disenroll and just become a bum that stops the clock too. the NCAA eligibility bylaws for DII are online so its easy to check. and as far as ringers, all schools everywhere recruit ringers, what do you think fast athletes are? Loyal to the school? Come on, they want a degree and a chance to run fast and make some cash. We're all ringers. Adams is just better at recruiting them than other DII schools right now.

Dont try and feed us that sh*t. I dont think Adams has ever prided themselves on not having foreigners, they have prided themselves on having a winning tradition.
Going back some years now they had some English and Irish runners and then going even further back to the Vigil days they had a lot of Mexican and American-Mexican runners, you do realise they are foreign right?
If other schools are going to recruit foreigners then if you want to be successfull you better get a few yourself. Look at Ok State. Or you could be a CU and bang on about how you only have Americans... and then finish 15th at nationals.

Haha I like this. What this is for those of you who are interested is a pissed off Western runner posing under the guise of someone from CU. Why would someone from CU even care, they compete in a different division to Adams.
What you angry little Western pups need to do is do some research. The only time your team was every any good was when you were filled with over aged Kiwis and random other foreigners. Hogarth - 30 year old Kiwi, Aish - 25 year old Kiwi, the Mcrae twins - over aged and should have been ineligible, Bodor - over aged and Hungarian. The list goes on.
And ask your coaches or Alumni about the time you tried to run a Kenyan NAIA transer who had run out of eligibility, by saying he didn't run a previous semester as his school had dispanded... only to be exposed as frauds and cheats.
So to sum up.. get off your high horses and take your regular beatings with some class.
I think you need to do some research yourself. The Adams guys were all over the boards when ACU was winning NCAA titles w/ Nico and the Riftians.
The bottom line is that it's not breaking any rules recruiting from out of the country, but you have to admit most schools in DII aren't able to do this (don't have near the resources). Also, by recruiting foreign pre-made talent, you're getting kids/men that are faster than most American kids who'd consider DII as an option. Admit this, an American kid who'd run as fast as Huffer, Theofile, Cragg, Mwei, etc... (before the went to Adams), wouldn't touch a DII school with a 10 foot pole. By recruiting Internationals you're landing high level DI recruits that you couldn't get from the U.S HS system.
So what exactly are you saying? If as you say the very top % of US high school recruits wouldn't consider a D2 school then what other options to D2 coaches have? Develop 9.40+ HS 2 milers I hear you say. Well yes fair enough and Adams does as much of that as any other D2 school but if you want to win national titles you are gonna need a couple of foreign studs to bolster things out. And that is an unavoidable home truth.
And it's not the case that most D2 schools can't get foreigners. Absolutely tons can and do
Western
Adams
Queens
Augustana
American International
Fort Lewis
Minnesota Mankato
New Mexico Highlands
Abeline Christian
Harding
Central Missouri
Columbus state
Alaska Anchorage
And those are just the ones off the top of my head. It just seems that Adams gets the better foreigners and then does a better job of developing them once they get there.
Columbus State had the top foreigner this past year :D
I doubt anyone currently from WSC is on here, I suppose there could be some freshman attempting to stir the pot but be serious, neither Western's or Adams's main guys are on here.
Vandenbusche has pulled stunts, so has Martin. Both are willing to break rules if it means winning. Believe it or not, most top programs in all divisions have broken the rules at some point or another.
Do you know what the process is as a foreigner coming over to run in the NCAA? 99% would be ineligible if they answered truthfully. Simple things such as being apart of a club and having a coach can cause issues.
I think people from Western are probably upset since Michel has gone away MOSTLY from the foreign route an Adams seems to be at its peak - so to speak. Unfortunately it seems that this absence has formed into an excuse for Western.
When Western was winning it was Adams who was bickering. When Abilene was winning it was mostly Adams bickering. Now with Adams it seems to be just about everyone is bickering. This will change again, that I promise. Whether it's Western that takes back the title for a few years or GV, or one of the new almost fully foreign programs, there will always be bickering down below.
"I think people from Western are probably upset since Michel has gone away MOSTLY from the foreign route an Adams seems to be at its peak"
Hmmmm not sure about that one buddy..
Number of foreigners on Adams States 2010 national championship team at Lousville - 2
Luke Cragg - UK
Craig Huffer - Aus
Number of foreigners on Western States 2010 runner up team at Louisville - 2
Gabe Proctor - ETH
David Flynn - IRE
So that rules out the foreigner thing being the reason for Westerns CONSTANT biccering. I guess losing just makes you bitter.
